Here is a small parts kit for the larger (6L6GC) amplifiers in Fender's Hot Rod and Blues Series amplifiers. These are components in which their factory placement will inevitably cause excessive heat damage on the PCB. Replacing these preventive maintenance components and installing them floating above the board will ensure proper air flow and heat dissipation preventing future heat damage to the PCB.
Two variations are available - the only difference between the two options are the 5W resistors in the channel switching low voltage power supply.
It is advised to inspect your circuit board prior to purchase to assess damage to ensure installation can be successfully completed.
Option #1 - Suitable for Hot Rod Deluxe or Blues Deluxe (both original & Reissue):
- 470 Ω 3W Screen Grid Resistors
- 470 Ω 5W Low Voltage Dropping Resistors
- 5w 16v Zener Diodes
Option #2 - Hot Rod Deville or Blues Deville
- 470 Ω 3W Screen Grid Resistors
- 330 Ω 5W Low Voltage Dropping Resistors
- 5w 16v Zener Diodes
MPORTANT: When working on tube amplifiers high voltage may be present without taking the proper precautions. Each component type is clearly labeled - PCB locations will not be included as there are two many variations in the revisions to cover all the amplifiers.
